This memorandum of understanding (MOU) is to establish University of South Florida/Sarasota/Manatee (USFSM) as the official evaluator for Project Elevate as specified in the grant.

APPROVAL OF CHANGES TO THE VENICE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (VPAC) USE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF VENICE AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FLORIDADescription On November 19, 2013 the School Board of Sarasota County and the City of Venice entered into a joint Use Agreement relating to the Venice Performing Arts Center. The agreement established the conditions under which the facility would be leased, managed, and shared - including use priorities. That Agreement has two appendices. Appendix A is the Rate Schedule and Appendix B is the User Contract. The parties have now completed one full year of operation of the VPAC. The changes presented here update each of the appendices based, in part, on the lessons learned over that first year. Changes to the User Contract are minor in nature. Changes to the Rate Schedule reflect the impacts of actual operation over the past year. Staff, assisted by the VPAC Joint Advisory Board, will evaluate these documents again at the end of the 2015-2016 season.

APPROVAL OF THE UPDATED STUDENT EXCHANGE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE SCHOOL BOARD OF CHARLOTTE COUNTY, FLORIDA AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FLORIDADescription On May 25, 1999 the School Board of Sarasota County entered into a Student Exchange Agreement with the School Board of Charlotte County. That agreement acknowledged the geographic overlap of the attendance areas for Englewood Elementary School, L.A. Ainger Middle School, and Lemon Bay High School and empowered the Boards to set attendance zones that reach across county lines. This agreement also stipulates that the District in which students reside will be responsible for providing transportation to their districted school. This action simply updates the existing agreement without any significant changes.

14. APPROVAL OF THE WOODWINDS IN OUR SCHOOLS GRANT APPLICATION TO THE VERA AND IMRE HECHTS FOUNDATION, INC. FOR BOOKER MIDDLE AND RIVERVIEW HIGH SCHOOLSDescription CONTINUATION: Grant funds of $34,000 will give students at Booker Middle School and Riverview High School access to a woodwinds music specialist who can provide high quality music instruction to small groups of students.

17. APPROVAL OF THE SARASOTA DIGITAL CLASSROOM PLANDescription As required by section 1011.62(12)(b), Florida Statutes (F.S.) each District School Board shall submit to the Florida Department of Education a Digital Classrooms Plan (DCP) to meet the unique needs of students, schools and personnel.

18. APPROVAL OF THE FIELD TRIP FOR VENICE HIGH SCHOOL'S JROTC TO ATTEND THE GEORGIA NAVIGATOR CUP IN GAINESVILLE, GEORGIA ON JANUARY 15-19, 2016.Description
The 2016 Georgia Navigator Cup is the culmination of JROTC Orienteering competitions. Last school year, Venice High School students earned 1st place in Florida orienteering, novice division. Orienteering combines physical speed, with mental agility, and math to navigate accurately in a race against other cadets. JROTC learned skills (such as compass reading) are applied during all orienteering meets.
Recommendation That the field trip for Venice High School's JROTC to attend the Georgia Navigator Cup in Gainesville, Georgia on January 15-19, 2016 be approved as presented.

APPROVAL OF CLASIFICATION OF INOPERATIVE EQUIPMENT AND FURNITURE AS PROPERTY TO BE DELETEDDescription The custodian of the property (cost center heads) have certified it to be traded in on new equipment, unaccounted for, not repairable or otherwise inoperable. Property still on hand after reallocation will be salvaged for any useful parts and then sold at auction.
Recommendation That the classification of equipment and furniture, as property to be deleted, be approved as presented.

20. APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT #2 TO ARCHITECT'S CONTRACT FOR THE PINE VIEW SCHOOL HVAC AND INTERIOR RENOVATION PROJECTDescription
The scope of work for the this amendment is to provide additional engineering design services to modify the design documents to provide technology design (1) to replace the cabling to two parking lot light poles feeding four security cameras at each pole and (2) to provide engineering and technology design for the temporary Administration Offices and Clinic to be housed in a temporary facility in the main campus parking lot while the renovations are taking place in Building 6.
The total amount for these changes shall not exceed $2,830.00. These funds are available through the project budget.

The Construction Services' Change Orders are summarized on the enclosure for ease of review. These change orders total a decrease of ($1,021,652.07) in gross contract dollars.
These change orders are ($1,035,758.52) credit for Direct Material Purchases; the corresponding Direct Material Purchase Orders of ($976,942.00) result a net of $58,816.52 in sales tax savings.

APPROVAL OF THE ADDITION OF A 457(B) PLAN AND SECURITY BENEFITS GROUP TO THE RETIREMENT SAVINGS PROGRAMDescription The School Board wishes to enhance the Retirement Saving Program by adopting a 457(b) plan for eligible employees to voluntarily enroll and add Security Benefits Group to the list of approved 403(b) providers.
